Printing:
My
printer wont stop printing blank pages/gibberish- Restart
your computer
- Clear
Print Jobs
- Go
into Start -> Printers and Faxes (Windows XP) or Start -> Settings
->Printers (Windows 2000)
- Double
Click on your printer
- Highlight
all of the waiting print jobs
- Hit
the delete Button on your keyboard or Click on the Document menu and
choose Cancel
- Turn
off or unplug your printer and restart your computer then turn your printer back on.
I have
one printer all of my computers use, and it won’t print anymore.- If
the printer is attached directly to one of your computers
- Make
sure that the computer is turned on
- Restart
the Computer
- If
the computer is attached to a Jet Direct
- Make
sure that there is a green light where the network cable from the wall
connects to the Jet Direct
- Check
that the power cable is still attached to the Jet Direct
- Check
to be sure that the cable from the Jet Direct to the Printer is still
attached and is not loose.
Logging On:
When I
log on the computer logs back off immediately- You
are logged on somewhere else
- Go
back to the computer you last worked at and log off
- You
were not logged off correctly at the last computer you were working on.
- Call
the Help Desk at 5540
I
can’t log on, it says check my username and password and try again- The
Caps Lock may be turned on
- Check
to make sure that the light is not on under the A on the keyboard
- The
Domain may be incorrect
- If
there are only 2 boxes on your log on screen:
- Click
the options button on the lower right hand side of the window and then
follow the instructions below for 3 boxes
- If
there are 3 boxes on your logon Screen:
- Make
sure that to Log on to box has either CVDISTRICT (If you’re a teacher)
or CVSD (If you’re an Administrator) selected
I can’t
log on, it says “domain CVDISTRICT is not available”- Check
and make sure that your network cable is plugged into both your computer
and the wall
- Check
to make sure there is a green light on the back of your computer where
the network cable is plugged in
- Call
your Building Tech
