My project about the Pueblo Indians taught me a lot. It taught me that Pueblo’s worked together to prepare food, build houses, and worship & talk to their spirits called Kachina’s. The Pueblo’s ate vegetables but they would eat buffalo meat when it was available. They hunted deer, antelope, and mountain lions, they also gathered corn. They made villages and houses out of adobe mud-a type of cement. They would also live in caves or built shelters out of pole. The Pueblo’s wore buffalo skin, and used yucca-a plant to sew their clothes together with, the string felt like silk. Pueblo’s were located in many places such as Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and Colorado. The men hunted, women cooked and watched the children. The Pueblo’s had ceremonies; worshiping Kachina’s- they believed that they were spirits who returned with the clouds and rain to help their people. Over 300 different Kachina’s were believed to exist. I have learned a lot about the Pueblo’s culture, beliefs, and customs!!!
