The Crow Indians

Interesting Fact

In 1851 the first treaty established the boundaries of the Indian Country for several tribes, including the Crow. The territory included 35 million acres in Wyoming and Montana. In 1868 the Crow Indians were lessoned to 8 million acres. Because of all the Crows dying off because of many different causes, the US Government decided to reduce the amount of land by even more. Because of all the hatred and confusion that was going on, the Crow broke the friendship treaty that was made in 1825 and signed by Chief Long Hair and the US Army with Major O’ Fallon.
