Cultural
Connections to Geography-Climate-Resources
1.
One connection that the Cayuga
Indians had was with the environment.
The Cayuga had an Agricultural Festival six times a year. They prayed and danced so that the wealth of
their agriculture would prosper and they would continue to have food.
2.
Another connection that the Cayuga
Indians had was their political system with other tribes. The Iroquois were a confederacy composing of
five different tribes. The Cayuga are
one of them. The confederacy was made
to reduce conflict and maintain unity.
They helped each other and kept a connection with each other. For large meetings with other tribes, the
Cayuga would send 10 delegates. This
helped make future decisions.
