Diversity Awards

Diversity "DREAM" Awards

Each year, Central Valley School District celebrates diversity by honoring students and employees who are putting diversity into action in our schools. Selected students and staff are presented with a DREAM Award. The award celebrates students and staff who actively support and promote:

• Diversity in the school community
• Respect all aspects of diversity
• Empower others to grow and develop
• Appreciate differences and multicultural richness
• Motivate peers to go above and beyond

2007-2008 Awards

Two recipients were selected by a team of community judges to receive a 2007-2008 DREAM Award. These individuals were honored, along with all nominees, during the awards presentation on March 18, 2008. The DREAM Awards honorees are:

• William Davis - Student and ASB President, Central Valley High School
• Vince Eberly - ELD teacher, Central Valley High School

2006-2007 Awards

Three recipients were selected by a team of community judges to receive a 2006-2007 DREAM Award. These individuals were honored, along with all nominees, during the awards presentation on March 14, 2007. The DREAM Award honorees are:

• The Genocide Project Team - Students, University High School
• Betsy Casteel - ELD Teacher, North Pines Middle School
• Paul Schneider - Social Studies Teacher, University High School

2005-2006 Awards

Six recipients were honored from among 22 nominees with a 2005-2006 DREAM Award. All nominees were honored during the awards presentation on March 20, 2006. The DREAM Award honorees are:

• Zachary Brown - Student, University High School
• Courtney Ramsey - Student, Horizon Middle School
• Natasha Gerasimchuk - ELD Specialist, Central Valley School District
• Earnie Tate - Teacher, Central Valley High School
• Jeff Wallingford - Teacher, Progress Elementary
• Diversity Team Martha Bayle, Pat Dempsey, Nathan LeBret, Janet Mosby, Patrick Moore, Charleen Steele, Joe Whitson - Teachers, Greenacres Middle School

2004-2005 Awards

The 2004-2005 DREAM Awards were presented on March 23, 2005. Five recipients were selected by a team of community judges from among 34 student and staff nominees. The DREAM Award honorees are:

• Kristina Kielbon - Student, University High School
• Anthony Xin - Student, Central Valley High School
• Jan McFarland - 4th grade Teacher, Adams Elementary
• Carolyn Nutsch - Educational Assistant, North Pines Middle School
• Karen Zurfluh - Interpreter, Bowdish Middle School
