School Programs and Operations Replacement Levy Information

Central Valley residents will be asked to consider a three-year School Programs and Operations Replacement Levy on the February 3, 2009 ballot. The proposed levy renews and replaces the district's current levy, which expires on December 2009. It is not a new tax.

What’s the difference between a Bond and Levy?
A  bond pays for the construction of new or remodeled school buildings. A levy pays for day-to-day operations of schools including teachers, textbooks, supplies and extra-curricular programs not fully funded by Washington State. Both funding measures must be specifically approved by local voters.
