Project CRISS (CReating Independence through Student-owned Strategies)
Grade Level:  K-12 grade teachers

CRISS strategies are designed to increase student-centered teaching, independent learning, and student achievement.  Teachers will experience a variety of these research-based strategies that can be applied across curriculums and employed with their students immediately.  Participants will receive a Project CRISS book and materials.  You MUST attend all classes to receive the book/materials.  Class limit is 18.

Using Science Notebooks

Learn simple strategies to embed student science notebooks into your current science curriculum.  Science notebooks provide students with the opportunity to integrate science and writing and to enhance their understanding of science content.

Social Skills in the Classroom across Different Levels

Join us for learning different ways to teach social skills at different levels.  We will be sharing different curriculums, children’s literature, writing and using social stories and visual supports for behavior.  We will also be talking briefly about reinforcement systems, preference assessments, daily behavior report cards, and student’s personal behavior books.  If you have a favorite book you use for social skills please let Ellen or Marci know prior to January 8, 2009.
