The following resources are wonderful internet research tools available for our students.
Facts for Learning--username: chiefs password: facts
Facts for learning is a research web data base that offers students many avenues in which to do their research. It is designed for students 2nd to 5th grade. It is especially useful for the 5th grade students doing their major social studies report called the CBAs.

Culture Grams is a student-friendly web data base that offers cultural facts about many of the countries of the world for reports. Culture Grams also offers facts that students will specifically find interesting. For example, students can find out what life is like as a child, or what school is like in any particular country. Students can look up a country (or state in U.S.) using either the World Edition, the Kid's Edition, or the State Edition.
Celebrate Our World
Students can explore the historical and cultural treasures of each of the world's nations. They can learn about the ways different cultures enrich communities around us and around the world. Students can read about inspiring stories of community members who have immigrated from differenet corners of the world. Students can read about the history, the folk stories, the holidays, the arts, fashion, and recipes of the different nations. They can also learn about city and regional information and demographics and city-specific cultures
