Accelerated Reader Program (AR)
Chester students participate in the Accelerated Reader Program (AR). The AR program measures comprehension. Many of the books in our library media center are leveled books and are identified by different color dots as well as an AR sticker. These books have a computerized quiz available for the students to take. Students take an intitial test to determine their comprehension level. They then choose a book on their AR level to read. After reading the book, the students then take the computerized quiz for that book. Parents and students can find out if Chester has an AR quiz available for any book that they might check out from the public library or from any bookstore by clicking on the list in the right hand column or by clicking here. To search for a book, click on the binoculars icon. A search screen will open up on the right. Type in what you are looking for. Each book has the level and the amount of points available for that quiz.
