Mrs. Lamon
Our New Student Teacher
Miss Larkin
I am thrilled to do my student teaching with Mrs. Lamon and your children at Chester Elementary. I have worked with third, fourth, and fifth graders throughout my education at Eastern, and fifth graders are tons of fun because they are becoming independent learners. There is a deep sense of curiosity that is forming about the world around them. They are beginning to ask thoughtful questions. They want to know why things work the way they do, not just how. They keep me on my toes, and I like that.
My goals as a teacher are simple, I want to inspire kids to be life-long learners, to look past the cover of the book, never settle for less than their best, and don't forget to laugh a little. I feel like I have the chance everyday to make a difference in each child's life, and my actions with your children will be a reflection of that.
About Me
I was born and raised in Spokane. I graduated from University High School in 2004. After graduation, I spent two years at Spokane Falls Community College before transferring to Eastern Washington University. I have spent the past two years there where I have had many great professors that I look up to in my professional life.
I think I have about a million hobbies. I am an outdoors woman through and through. I love the everything about nature. Some of my favorite things to do are backpack, water and snow ski, mountain bike, golf, SCUBA dive, fishing, camping...the list goes on and on. I truly love to be outside all times of the year. I hope to bring that love for the outdoors into my classroom through all the subjects.
