Spelling
Fourth graders should be able to correctly spell the 101 priority (high-frequency) words. These words should be spelled correctly in all daily writing. Students will be tested on words from the list frequently throughout the year. A copy of the words will be sent home, can be found here: 101 Priority Words, and can also be found in the VIP section of the student's binder.
The usage of these words should also be practiced (i.e. its/it's, their/they're/there.) Students should study the 101 priority words all year in addition to their regular weekly spelling words.
