Running Start
Running Start is a college credit program allowing students to earn high school and college credit simultaneously. Spokane Community College, Spokane Falls Community College, and Eastern Washington University offer this opportunity for junior and senior students. Interested students should contact the Running Start counselor. Prerequisites: Must be of junior or senior status. Must score a certain level on the SAT, ACT, or ASSET. Cost: The college classes are offered tuition free. Students are responsible for books, school fees, and transportation. Program: A student can enroll in a maximum of 18 credits per quarter. In addition, students may attend classes at the high school and participate in all school activities. Check with Student Services for details and applications. Students are responsible for obtaining information listed in the daily bulletin at the high School. Graduation Ceremony: Seniors must have all high school graduation requirements being taken at the college completed by the 2nd college quarter, senior year in order to participate in graduation ceremonies. Culminating Projects: All Running Start seniors are required to complete and present a Culminating Project.
