Fine Arts

Students graduating from Central Valley High School must earn 1.0 credit (2 semesters) in the Fine Arts Department.  These credits may be fulfilled by completing courses numbered 7000 through 7999.   In addition, there are a few cross-credited technology courses that will fulfill this requirement.

Students in the CVHS Fine and Performing Arts program have the opportunity to participate in a broad spectrum of arts:  visual, vocal and instrumental (choir, band, orchestra), and theatre experiences.  Diversity, excellence, professionalism, and the development of life-long aesthetic values are stressed.  Young artists are encouraged to grow creatively through experimentation as well as achieve mastery of traditional fine arts skills.  All classes contain possibilites for career exploration. 

 Several Career and Technical Education courses can be taken and cross credited as Fine Arts once a student has psuccesfully completed FA 7000.  Information on those course can be found under Fine Arts courses: OE Cross Credited.
