Culminating Project
Students graduating from Central Valley High School must earn .5 (1 semester) credit in Culminating Project - Senior Seminar or in Culminating Project - Independent Study.
Senior Seminar Course
This course is for students who wish to benefit from a structured classroom environment to develop and complete their required Culminating Project, Portfolio, and Service Learning requirement. Students will demonstrate essential skills in information analysis, writing, oral presentation, critical thinking, self-management, and inter-personal communication. Through this course, students will also have the opportunity to do in-depth research and explore coreer options. The application process and procedures for jobs, scholarships, and colleges may also be included.
Culminating Project - Independent Study
Senior students, including Running Start students, must register for the Senior Seminar Course or the Culminating Project - Independent Study. All requirements must be at or above the standards set by the school guidelines. Students will be required to log 75 hours of time and activities towards the completion of their project which will include Culmintating Project, Portfolio, project presentation, and a service learning requirement. Students will work with Mr. Wellington (228-5162) to meet all deadlines and hand in assignments. Independent Study culminating projects need to be completed by the end of the first semester.
