About Me

I have been teaching special education since 1991. My teaching career started in Los Angeles, where I spent four years teaching self-contained. I then moved to Sacramento to teach Resource for the next eleven years. My wife and I decided to raise our children in Spokane to be closer to their grandparents. I received my BA in History/Social Studies from California State University, Chico. I received my MA in Education from California State University, San Bernardino.
I am married to a wonderful woman, Naiomi. We have two beautiful children, Nathan and Jazmine. I enjoy sports such as football, basketball and baseball. I have coached football at the high school level in California for over 20 years and have seen many players I have coached play Division I football (Oregon State, Boise State, Stanford) in college. I enjoy watching students grow and learn, which is why I wanted to be a teacher. I have also had the pleasure of traveling throughout Europe and Central America. I have been able to share these experiences with students. I don't think there is any other way for students to enjoy their educational experience than to travel.
