Grading Policy

Each student's grade average will be based on four categories, with each category weighted as indicated below:

Homework:  25%

Tests:  40%

Quizzes: 25%

Participation:  10%

I will follow the Central Valley High School policy regarding attendance and tardies.  If you have an unexcused absence, no work for that day will be accepted and can not be made up.  This includes tests or quizzes taken the day of the absense.  Each student has 2 days to turn in work missed for an excused absence.

Daily homework assignments that are not completed on time receive 0 points.  They may be turned in late, but only receive a maximum of 3 points out of 5.  Any missed work for a unit must be made up before the Unit Test or it will not be accepted

Missed test or quizzes must be made up after school or during Student Access Time.

District Grading Scale

A     4.0      94 to 100%

A-     3.7      90 to <94%

B+     3.3      87 to <90%

B      3.0      84 to < 87%

B-     2.7      80 to < 84%

C+     2.3      77 to <80%

C      2.0      74 to <77%

C-     1.7      70 to <74%

D+     1.3      67 to <70%

D      1.0      60 to <67%

F      0.0      <60%

There will be no rounding betwen grade levels.
