Course Overview: | Advisory is required class for graduation. Five hours of Community service is required each year to receive a satisfactory in Advisory. Attendance will be a majority of the grade (75%). Failing to achieve an S grade in the class due to poor attendance will result in detention, Saturday school or additional Community Service. The purpose of the course is to provide adult advocacy, teach organizational skills, support academic skills, supervise the service learning project, prepare for WASL testing, facilitate registration and distribute information.

Classroom Requirements and Policies:
| No hats, hoods, or audio equipment. Store all backpacks under the desk. No food or drink in class. Clean up after yourself daily. Advisory is not for going to other rooms for help. That is done during student access time.

Grading Policy: | Letter grades generally reflect mastery of skills as defined by state Grade Level Expectations and Essential Academic Learning Requirements.
Grades for this course will follow the adopted district high school grading scale: A | 4.0 | 94 to 100% | Distinguished | A- | 3.7 | 90 to <94% | B+ | 3.3 | 87 to <90% | Proficient | B | 3.0 | 84 to <87% | B- | 2.7 | 80 to <84% | C+ | 2.3 | 77 to <80% | Apprentice | C | 2.0 | 74 to <77% | C- | 1.7 | 70 to <74% | D+ | 1.3 | 67 to <70% | Novice | D | 1.0 | 60 to <67% | F | 0.0 | <60% | There will be no rounding between grade levels. |
60% and above is satisfactory, below is unsatisfactory. |
Policies for Make-up or Late Work | Grades are given for returning documents and filling out registration. If they are not turned in on time than a late grade is given when they are returned. The grade is reduced daily 10%. |
