Symphonic Band
Symphonic Band is the largest band on the campus of CVHS. It is divided into three classes, woodwind performance, brass performance and percussion performance. The Symphonic Band utilizes the most diverse group of musicians on the CV campus to create an exciting sound. With over 100 members in the performing ensemble performances become alive with the power and grace of the Symphonic sound.
A large focus is geared towards individual development by all students on his or her respective instrument. Characteristic sound, introduction to music theory, sight reading and instrument technique are the building blocks of every day rehearsals. We perform standard repertoire throughout the year. Some of the highlight performances are the annual Russian Christmas Music in December and the CVHS Graduation Ceremonies in June.
Travel and extra curricular activities are also part of the band experience. Students can choose from a variety of ensembles available through the Symphonic Band; basketball band, marching band, jazz band and chamber ensembles.
