The Documents Shown in the Right Column on this page have Unit of Intruction Descriptions Listing the Technical Skills, Leadership Skills as well as the Academic Skills for Each Unit.

The Following is From the CTE/OSPI Website

Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Career and Technical Education is a planned program of courses and learning experiences that begins with exploration of career options, supports basic academic and life skills, and enables achievement of high academic standards, leadership, preparation for industry-defined work, and advanced and continuing education.

Our Vision for Career and Technical Education

It is the vision of the Career and Technical Education unit to provide the statewide leadership, support and service to develop and implement high quality, consistent and relevant CTE programs as essential components of educational and career pathways, with the goal of empowering each student to live, learn and work as a productive citizen in a global society.

CTE Course Approval/Re-Approval Process

Beginning in the 2006-2007 school year and continuing through the 2009-2010 school year all Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses will go through a re-approval process. The purpose of this process is to insure that all CTE courses set high standards for all students in all aspects of Washington's Education Reform initiative. In addition, the process will clairfy the correct alignment of CTE courses and the corresponding Classification of Instructional Program code (CIP).

Also Listed in the Right Hand Column are the 2006 OSPI Program Approval Documents for The CTE Programs at Central Valley High School.
