Transportation Technology 1 & 2
Students who enroll in the Introduction to Transportation classes will spend 100% of their time developing the knowledge and skills essential for entry into the industries related to transportation. Experience with various power systems, portable tools, stationary machinery, and the study of current technical materials and processes will help students find work immediately after graduation or prepare them for post secondary training.
The course will be aligned with the State of Washington Career and Technical Education program competencies for Technology Education Transportation.

- Introduction to Power Systems
- Introduction to Rocket Power and Aerodynamics (More Detail in the Systems than Intro to Technology)
- Air and Bottle Rocket Theory
- CO2 Car Race
- Introduction to Basic 2 Cycle and 4 Cycle Engine Theory
- Introduction to Electricity, Electronic Theory, Magnetism, Switching Systems, Electric Motors and Hydraulics
- Introduction to Robotics
- Introduction to Welding
- Introduction to Sheet Metal Work
- Introduction to Designing, Planning, and Cost Estimating of a Choice Product
- Introduction to Employability Skills
- Resume and Job Applications
- Please Note that Unexcused Tardies and/or Absences Will Count as Point Deductions for these Assignments. (This is backed by State Career and Technical Education Standards.)
- Safe Tool and Equipment Operation. (Safety tests will be required before using any equipment or powertools.)
