Situation or Problem:

Given teacher information from lecture, word, and powerpoint documents and materials supplied, design, produce a working car that will float above a magnetic track and propel it's way down the track using an electric motor and propeller according to stated specifications and using only certain materials.

Project Description, Design Brief or Purpose:
|
|
The teacher will give information by lecture and powerpoint documentation about magnets and basic electricity. The students will demonstrate knowledge and application of the design process by documenting the process as they go using the given assignment sheet to create a powerpoint presentation. (See Example). Students will then use cardboard or Styrofoam to make the base. They will design a motor mount and a contact device that will allow a propeller to move it down the track. They will use given materials that will meet specifications. They will then complete their powerpoint presentation that demonstrating their understanding of the physical elements, knowledge of basic electricity and tools used to create this car.
This assignment gives the beginning student the essentials in learning the basics in the design process, measuring, basic knowledge and experience with magnetism and electricity, and computer applications.

Complete the powerpoint presentation, and product. Correct until it successfully goes down the track.and meets instructor specifications.
