Quilting and Sewing

Quilting ONE (For those who have never taken this class.)

Projects:  1.  Pillowcase  2.  Peanut Shell  3.  Nine-Patch Block  4.  Required Quilt  5.  Your choice w/approval

Supply List for pillowcase:  3/4 yd main fabric, 1/3 yard second fabric, and 1/8 yd trim fabric

Supply list for Peanut Shell:  None; we will use donated fabric then donate these baby wraps to Sacred Heart Hospital.

Supply list for Nine-Patch Block:  None; this will be provided, and the blocks will be donated.

Supply list for the required quilt:  Yardage depends on the size you choose to make; see the teacher for fabric chart.

For all projects, you will need one 500m spool of 100% cotton Gutermann thread; it will likely last the entire semester.  A neutral or light blue will work for all your projects (unless you choose something really dark, then you'll want different thread).

Quilting TWO (For those who took Quilting One.)

Supply List:  500m Gutermann thread in a neutral color that will go with your fabric, 1 3/4 yd light color solid, 2 1/4 yd plus 2/3 yd dark color, 3 1/2 yd medium color  (This is your favorite fabric - one with a pattern and maybe multiple colors), 2 1/4 yd medium solid (or "reads as solid" from a distance), 4 yds for the backing, and batting that is approximately 72"x90".

Quilting THREE (For those who took Quilting One AND Two)

Project:  Your Choice! (Be sure to have teacher approval first.)

Supply List:  Varies depending upon your choice of projects.

May your sorrows be patched, your joys be quilted!

A good friend is like a warm quilt wrapped around the heart.

Friendship is a tapestry woven through the years with threads of joy and laughter, happiness, and tears.

Marriage is like quilting, it takes some work but is worth it.

I'm not crazy, I just make crazy quilts.

Quilts are like hugs from the ones you love.

Quilting connects the past with the present and the future.

Visit the Washington State Quilters Spokane Chapter here.  They have very informative and fun meetings with yummy treats, and a quilt show each fall that welcomes your quilt entries!
