Mrs. Schafer
Classroom Environment
Both the Food, Finanace, and Family (FFF) and Food and Nutrition courses are designed to enhance students knowledge and practical application of needs of individuals and families. The Quilting/Sewing class (elective credit only, not a CTE course) is designed for students of any ability to complete a fantastic quilt regardless of ability level. In all my classes, emphasis is on success, life skills, and a positive learning environment.

About Me
I was born in northern Canada and was raised near Colbert, WA. I've been married for 18 years and have an 11-year-old daughter (our little ballerina) and 6-year-old son (our little cancer survivor). I have a BA from Eastern Washington University with a major in Secondary English and a minor in PE and Media Specialist, as well as an MA in Curriculum and Instruction, and I'm currently taking college courses in Family and Consumer Science - a busy time! I've been teaching in CV schools since 1992; nine of those years were at North Pines Middle school teaching 7th-9th Language Arts, Social Studies, Leadership, and Home and Family Life, and the most recent 8 years have been at Central Valley High School teaching 9th-12th Language Arts, Quilting & Sewing, and Food, Finances, & Family.
Because I highly value my two children and the short time I have while they are little, I've chosen to work part time. I do not arrive until right before 4th period, so don't search all morning for me! I'm happy to work with you after school any time.
