BearBot I (2007)

Update: Central Valley High Schools TSA students have been building a robot called Bearbot I for the FIRST Robotics Competition held in Portland, Oregon March 1, 2, 3. The goal of the robot is to wirelessly drive around and place large inner-tubes onto a jungle gym type platform. The robot can be a blocker, tuber, or a platform to load other robots onto. With engineering help from Lloyd industries and a six thousand dollar grant from NASA, Kim Wellington and Alan Wardsworth have guided six CV students in the construction of this years entry. With the robot shipping out on February 20th, the six weeks set aside have flown by for teachers and students.
Welcome to the Bearbot 1 website. This is the official web site for Central Valley High School's robotics team. We are FIRST Robotics Team 2149.
We are a group of students and mentors who meet at Central Valley High School everyday after school in the CTE department to learn about and build robots. We compete in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition, in which we get 6 weeks to design, build, and program a robot to compete with and against other high school teams at a 3-day regional event. The challenge is different each year, but our skills continue to grow as our team gains experience.
