Principal's Message

Broadway is proud to be a "Community of Learners" where our students, parents, and staff look for opportunities to be learners in our daily lives. Broadway Elementary is committed to high academic expectations, mutual respect and social responsibility.

Our focus is student learning as we seek answers to: What do we want students to know and be able to do? How will we know if they've learned it? What will we do if they don't.

By using the Nine characteristics of High Performing Schools research, the state standards for each grade level as our curriculum guide, district common assessments and teacher collaboration; we will provide each student with a rigorous and challengaing academic program of learning. We believe a collaborative school culture is the single most important factor for improving student learning.

As part of the community, Broadway Elementary continues to support the use of the building for a variety of student, parent and community offerings during after school hours. The building remains in good condition from our remodel 17 years ago. The addition of new carpet and two classrooms has enhanced our ability to serve students in a positive learning environment. Our emergency plans, school wide behavior plan and motto of "Work Hard and Do the Right Thing" provides a safe environment for students and staff.

We invite you to visit Broadway, participate in our programs and activities and become a part of our "Community of Learners". We appreciate your continued support and look forward to working with you and your student in this ever-changing educational adventure.
