Spelling
Spelling words are given to each student on Monday. Students should be studying their words EVERY NIGHT!!! They are given a copy for their classroom, one for the Resource Room and one to take home.
Spelling is done in the Resource Room every day during writing group. If students do not finish the spelling assignments in the alotted time, it then becomes homework. All assignments must be turned in by Friday. If assignments are missing, the student will not be able to buy from the store that week. They will be finishing their spelling in the library during celebration recess.
Spelling tests are given each Friday. Any words that your child misses will be on the following week's test. The words will remain on your child's spelling list until they are able to pass that specific word on the test. New words will be added to your child's list and handed out on Monday. In the event that there is no school on Friday, the spelling test will be given on Thursday.
