Classroom Environment
My small, cozy center provides individualized Reading/Language Arts instruction through the Title 1 Reading Program for grades K-3 and individualized instruction for English Language Learners (ELL) through the English Language Development Program (ELD)in grades K-5. In grades 1 & 2, reading and ELD instruction is provided small group in the classrooms, five days a week for 20 to 30 minutes. In third grade, kindergarten and for ELD students in grades 4 & 5, instruction is provided in the Title 1 Reading Center four days a week for 25 minutes a day. This program provides both an intervention and prevention model of instruction that is supplemental and in addition to the classroom teacher's instruction which reinforces that instruction.
Schedule
I am available before and after school Monday through Friday. Once school starts, I am in the primary classrooms until lunch. After lunch, I am in our Reading Center instructing intermediate and/or ELD students until 3:00. My work day ends at 3:35.
