Classroom Environment
Learning is a journey and the focus of my instruction is to provide students with the skills and strategies to navigate through this journey. Students will continuously reflect on their own learning and identify areas of opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the content being taught. Students will explore literature from many cultures and traditions, both fiction and nonfiction, that encompass a wide variety of literary genres, purposes, and styles. Finally, I believe in creating a safe classroom environment where ALL learners feel encouraged and respected by their peers as well as their sixth grade teacher.

About Me
Currently, I am in my fourth year teaching sixth grade at Bowdish Middle School in Spokane Valley. Before becoming a Rocket, I taught and coached for five years in the Naches Valley School District just outside Yakima, WA. When I'm away from the classroom I coach freshman boys basketball at University High School and middle school track. My hobbies include exercising, hiking, hunting, fishing, and listening to 80's music.
