Pam OrebaughPam Orebaugh, President, District #5

Board member since 2021; Current term expires Dec. 2025

Pam Orebaugh was elected to the school board in 2021. Orebaugh was raised in Montana, but has lived in the Spokane area for almost 30 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Hawaii and a Master of Science degree in nursing from Aspen University. Her lengthy nursing career includes experience with flight nursing and care for children and pregnant women. Orebaugh currently teaches nursing at the university level. She is an active community volunteer and believes in our US Constitution and is guided by Biblical values. She has five children—all who all have attended Central Valley schools.

Teresa Landa, Vice President, District #2

Teresa Landa was elected to the school board in 2021. Landa’s educational career is defined by 26 years in CVSD as a former teacher and administrator; four years in Newport, WA as the Newport School District Superintendent; and four years as NEWESD101’s Assistant Superintendent and consultant post retirement. Now she is directing her path in education to the CVSD School Board. She is committed to working with the other School Board directors, administration, staff and community to provide all students with the educational background that will prepare them to meet their goals in further education, careers, and life. Her education consists of the American College in Paris, a Bachelors of Arts from University of Washington, a Master of Arts in education including Principal Certification from Whitworth University, a Superintendent Certification from Washington State University as well as an Adjunct Professor at Eastern University in the Principal Certification Program. She has done extensive work as a volunteer including CVSD classroom helper, parent educator in Ready for Kindergarten, Bloomsday and as a former Rotarian. Four generations of Landa’s family proudly hold CVSD diplomas, including herself.

Stephanie Jerdon PhotoStephanie Jerdon, Director, District #3

Stephanie Jerdon was elected to the board in 2023. An Air Force wife, Jerdon and her family moved around quite a bit before settling in Spokane Valley in 2016. She earned an Associate of Fine Arts degree from Victor Valley Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University. She taught the fifth and sixth grades in Utah before putting full-time teaching aside to focus on her three children. An active part of her children's education, she has been a classroom helper, math and reading mentor, art docent, and Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) member. Jerdon is an active community volunteer and parent volunteer in Central Valley schools. She has worked as a programming specialist and clerk for the Liberty Lake Municipal Library. Two of her children have graduated from Central Valley schools, and she has one more in the district. Jerdon believes in transparent leadership and proactive community involvement to inform board decisions in order to better support our students, educators, and staff.

Cindy McMullen, Director, District #1

Board member since 2015; Current term expires Dec. 2027
 
Cindy McMullen was elected to the board in December 2015. A retired attorney who practiced in Spokane Valley for over 40 years with her husband Dennis, she holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in political science from Stanford University and a Juris Doctor degree from Gonzaga School of Law. McMullen served four years on the State Board of Education. She previously served for 24 years on the CVSD School Board, and served as president five times. McMullen was an officer on the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA) board, serving as its president in 2007. She currently serves on the WSSDA legislative committee, the Federal Relations Network and as a WSSDA Leadership Development trainer. She was named the Spokane YWCA Woman of Achievement in Education in 1997. McMullen and her husband have three married daughters, who grew up going to school within CVSD, now living across the country.
