Need Help with School Meals?

Struggling Central Valley parents and families are encouraged to apply for the National School Lunch Program/School Breakfast Program. The program offers eligible students the opportunity for free or reduced-priced meals in Central Valley schools. Eligibility is based on household size and income. For example, a family of four with an annual income of $39,220 or less is eligible for the program. As the economy worsens the financial circumstances among families may change. These families are urged to apply or reapply for meal benefits which provide students with nutritious breakfast and lunch. All Central Valley students who qualify for the program are eligible for free breakfast each day. In addition, all eligible students in grades K-3 qualify for free lunch. Program application forms are available in all schools and online at http://www.cvsd.org/food.asp. Each application will be processed and the applicant notified of their child’s meal category. For more information, call Nutrition Services at 228-5414.
