Classroom Environment

Research has proven the benefits of music and the arts in student success in the general classroom. Respect for individual differences and levels is essential for students to grow academically and in the arts. Students come to me with a variety of talents and skills; sometimes my role is to help them discover their talents, but always I endeavor to help them develop those talents and skills. Students at each grade level have at least one performance during the year, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their growth in music. The Eagle Singers is an extended day program for students in fourth and fifth grade. Eagle Singers perform throughout the community and have produced six C.D.s.

About Me

This is my 27th year teaching elementary music in Central Valley School District, having taught at Adams for nine years. I can't think of any career I'd enjoy more than teaching music. My husband is also a music teacher at a neighboring CVSD school, Sunrise Elementary. We have two grown daughters who attended CVSD schools, graduating from Central Valley High School.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from George Fox University and my Masters in Teaching Creative Arts Across the Curriculum from Lesley University.

I enjoy performing music with my church worship team and often direct children's choir there as well.
