2005 Meritorious Service Awards

Each year, the outstanding contributions of Central Valley School District employees and community members are recognized by the Board of Directors through the Meritorious Service Awards. Initiated by the Board of Directors in 1985, these awards honor exemplary contributions by individuals and organizations toward student achievement and our district's primary focus -- learning and teaching.

In 2005, more than 85 Meritorious Service Award nominations were received in three categories: certificated employees (teachers), classified employees and community members. Each nominee was recognized during celebrations held in every school building during the first three weeks of May.

Three district-wide recipients were selected by the School Board and honored with a board meeting celebration and individual plaques on May 23, 2005. The individuals honored for their outstanding contributions to students and education are:

  • Classified Employee: Caroly Gant - South Pines Elementary
  • Certificated EmployeeAnn Gotfredson -- Liberty Lake Elementary
  • Community Member/Organization: Dorothy Peterson -- McDonald Elementary

Board members Tom Dingus and Debra Long, along with Superintendent Mike Pearson selected the district-wide recipients of the 2005 Meritorious Service Awards from among more than 85 nominations. Listed by school, the 2005 Meritorious Service Award nominees included:
